We also use ing after:
Give up (=quit) Put off (=postpone) Go on (=continue) Keep or keep on (= do something continuously or repeatedly)
* Paula has given up trying to lose weight. * We have to do something. We cannot go on living like this! * Don not keep interrupting me while I am talking
With some Verbs you can use the structure verb + somebody+ - ing:
* I cannot imagine mike riding a motorbike.
Examples:
1. Suddenly everybody stopped talking. There was silence 2. I will do the shopping when I have finished cleaning the apartment. 3. Have you considered going to live in another country? 4. I do not mind being kept waiting. 5. She admitted stealing the money.

Exercise 1:
Complete each sentence with one of these verbs: (apply, be, get, listen, make, flash, try, use, wash, work, write.)

Complete the sentences for each situation using ing.
