Lesson 23 --- MY PREVIOUS EMPLOYER AND I NEVER HIT IT OFF
Lesson 23: MY PREVIOUS EMPLOYER AND I NEVER HIT IT OFF
  Conversation Practice
INTERVIEWER: Your resume is quite impressive. I see that you only stayed at your last position for three months, however. Can you shed some light on that?
APPLICANT: To be honest, my previous employer and I never hit it off. He was on vacation when I was hired and I think he always resented the fact that he didn't get to put me through my paces in the interview.
INTERVIEWER: I see, so you didn't see eye to eye with him?
APPLICANT: No, we didn't. His approach to management was to delegate a task and then to micro manage all the details that were involved.
INTERVIEWER: You handle things differently?
APPLICANT: Yes, I'm a self starter and I work best when people aren't always looking over my shoulder.
