It’s usually nice to have a roomate, especially when you live far from your family. Young people who have just entered college would usually live in dormitories or apartments with their friends, usually four to five persons in a room. Some universities have their own dormitories, but these are often crowded. Some students would then find apartments or other dormitories outside the school. Reservations are ususally done through phone call or personal visits. People who are roomates usually become the best of friends as time goes by. They comfort each other agaist homesickness and often confide each other’s secrets.
A roomate who never keeps his belongings in order is very annoying indeed. He is the type who leaves his dirty clothes on top of another’s bed scatters his books all over the room. Most probably, he also makes it a point to store food under his bed and attract cockroaches. The best way to deal with this kind of roomate is to tell him frankly, but kindly, that his behavior is causing others discomfort.
