Sleeping Hours

Everybody must sleep at least 8 hours a day.But many people seem to think
that sleeping is merely wasting time, and try to reduce their sleep time.Some experts say that we can live healthily with three or four hours sleep, emphasizing that what is important is not how many hours we sleep, but the quality of the sleep.

Another interesting thing about sleep is how to interpret our dreams. Can we understand what our dreams mean in a scientific way?Do they have any meaning in our real life, or are they just pent-up wishes, as Sigmund Freud said?


1. How many hours do you sleep?
2. Do you feel OK with three or four hours’ sleep?
3. If your spouse were snoring, what would you do?
4. Do you need an alarm clock in the morning?
5. Do you like to sleep in a bed or on the floor?
6. Do you think your dreams tell you something significant?
7. How often, and when, do you dream?
8. Do you try to interpret what your dreams mean?
